Transfer of products
Effective from 16 November 2026
Introduction
This page explains how you can transfer money and investments into and out of the products you hold with us and what service we can support for each product.
There are two ways to transfer:
- A cash transfer means your investments are sold and the cash value is moved to us or your new provider
- An “In Specie Transfer” means your investments move across as they are, without being sold
What you can do depends on the product you hold. The sections below show which transfers we currently support, together with some important points to keep in mind when requesting to make an In Specie Transfer out.
Please note: Our Personal Pension product is invested and managed by us. However, it's operated and administrated by Embark Services Limited (Embark). The circumstances in which you can make transfers in and out of your Personal Pension and details of the agreement between you and Embark, can be found here.
Cash transfers
Cash transfers in: This is when your investments held with another provider are sold, so the resulting cash can be moved to your account with us.
Cash transfers out: This is when your investments with us are sold, so that the resulting cash can be moved to another provider. The benefit of this with ISA products is that resulting cash remains ISA-wrapped. There is less impact, other than convenience, with GIAs, as you are still able to withdraw that cash yourself.

Notes on transfers out
When requesting a transfer out, please note:
- If you ask us to transfer your investments held within an ISA, LISA or JISA to another provider, we’ll only be able to do this by transferring all investments and cash held within that wrapper. We don’t support partial In Specie transfers
- If you only hold a Managed ISA, we may support certain partial cash transfers to another ISA manager. However, if you hold both a Managed ISA and a Self-Managed ISA with us, any transfer to another ISA manager must include all cash and investments held across both products
- If you’re trying to transfer out a Lifetime ISA or Junior ISA, you’re not also required to transfer any Stocks and Shares ISA you may hold with us, as that’s a separate investment wrapper. Similarly, if you wanted to transfer out your Stocks and Shares ISA, you would not have to transfer out your Lifetime ISA or Junior ISA
- We’re unable to transfer out Fractional Entitlements (also known as fractional shares). If you want to transfer out Managed investments holding Fractional Entitlements, they’ll be sold and only the cash value will be transferred or withdrawn
- Transfers of ISAs, Lifetime ISAs and Junior ISAs are generally processed within 30 days of receiving the transfer request from your new provider
